The Frozen Flames of Winter

The Frozen Flames of Winter
True hearts are forged in the frozen flames of winter
This is the season that tries our souls
And only the true are rewarded with the lazy airs of summer
But as of now, we freeze
Frost adorns our crowns
Rings of ice decorate our numb fingers
We are wedded to the winter
Where I live, it gets really cold in the mornings. This also was partially inspired by Thomas Paine’s Common Sense, which I read in my English class.
(Also, sorry I haven’t been on here for a while… this past week has been really busy with school, but winter break has officially started, so I’ll have more time to write! Yay!)
