Inferno

Inferno
she’s fire and brimstone and
in the cracks between,
dying, snuffed-out stars
(crumbling)

firefly firecracker firework firebird Firebrand

she just wants to see the world burn
in righteous flames
an Inferno to dismantle the Wrong
for justice / for retribution

but
i tell her
the seasons (and change) come slowly
the seeds of revolution are sown
just Wait for the Rain
(but she has no faith in such games)

she claims
she’ll wait (and burn) forever
if necessary
(she doesn’t trust nature’s Tears: they’ll douse her spark, wash away her work)
