Instagram & Published in MICRO//MACRO!

Hi all!

I have two pieces of fun news today!

First: I recently made a poetry Instagram for this blog. You can follow me @dream.bigger.poetry! I’d like to get to know and follow more poets on there, so if you have an Instagram, let me know! It will feature shorter pieces (micropoetry), so I think most of what will be on there will be different from what this blog normally features.

Second: I recently got published in Issue #6 of MICRO//MACRO! The theme is SPACE, and I really enjoyed writing for this. I have five (!) pieces in there and am honored to have them featured beside works from amazing and talented writers. You check out my poems here and previous issues of the zine on Issuu. Finally, I’d like to thank the editor of the zine and founder of Nu Lit House (Tumblr, Twitter), Maynard McKinnon, for the opportunity. This was my first time submitting to a zine and they were so supportive of this newbie writer, who was uncertain of whether her work would be worthy of publication. I am very grateful.

And that’s all the news for now. As always, thank you for reading my poetry. Your support means the world to me!

2016 in Review

Another year has gone by, and now, it is time to reflect on this past year. I’ll admit there were ups and (many) downs to this year, but I hope that the trials of this year have helped us become stronger against that challenges that may lie ahead.

Here’s a recap of what I have accomplished and what I hope to accomplish in 2017 with my writing and blogging:

Achievements & Activities

  • I submitted a poem to my school’s literary magazine and got it published!
  • I also had a poem published in TeenInk’s print magazine!
  • I discovered Canva and started making graphics!
    • (Speaking of which, I still need to finish my Hamlet Favorite Quotes series… Act I and Act II are already posted. Three more to go!)

Goals / Resolutions

  • Blog more! / Write more! / Continue writing and blogging!
  • Start writing more about books and travel (along with other interests).
  •  Submit to online zines.
  • Get more feedback on my writing. (Shoutout to my friends for their help with editing and reviewing my pieces! Another shoutout to everyone who commented: your kind words mean the world to me!)
  • Reach 200 posts!
  • Continue building up confidence in my writing.
  • Experiment with different writing styles and genres.

Thank you for all of the support during 2016, and Happy New Year!

2015 in Review

2015 in Review
This year has gone by fast! Back in August, I started this blog, hoping it would motivate me to write more and get more practice writing creatively. I was sort of unproductive the first two months of this blog’s existence. In October, I started writing more (shout out to my friends for providing motivation and giving feedback). During winter break, I started my “one post per day” challenge and I think this really helped me practice my writing more. I also started writing about travelling in addition to writing poems and stories; I’m going to continue to write about travelling the world and I also want to write about books.
I don’t think I have any blogging resolutions for the new year: maybe just to write more and post more stories.
It’s the last day of 2015… There’s a sense of finality, but I’m also eager to experience 2016.
So here’s to 2016! Happy New Year!

Welcome! (The Beginning Of This Blog)

This is my blog,, and I will be posting creative writing pieces here.

Creative writing has been a huge influence in my life because I love reading. To me, books were perfect for seeking comfort, finding entertainment, and “living” in different worlds. There is something magical in how easily we can get absorbed into and swept away to a whole new world simply through the written word. As much as I enjoy reading, I wanted to be able to do the same thing as authors whose works I read: I wanted to create worlds other people could explore and offer the same support books had always offered to me. These two reasons are why I created this blog. At the same time, I hope to be able to practice my writing skills and also have fun.

The blog URL was inspired by one of my favorite movies, Inception.

Finally, I hope you enjoy reading these pieces!
